World Circle Dance

What do people like about Circle Dance?

“I love the variety of dances – from old traditional folk dances to new dances created this year”

“beautiful music from around the world that I’d never heard before”

“it calms my mind, keeps me fit and cheers me up”

If you love to dance, then come and join us on the 2nd Monday of each month for an evening of circle dance. Dancing in a circle is a tradition common to many cultures for marking special occasions and strengthening community.   There is also a growing repertoire of new dances set to both classical and contemporary music.

We’re a small friendly group and always welcome new members. You don’t have to sign up for a term – just come along to one of our sessions and give it a try.

You don’t need a partner or special shoes (any flat shoe is fine) and all the dances are taught.

LBCT is all about having fun while learning performance skills. Led by arts and education professionals who give up their time free as volunteers to give local children an affordable, enjoyable introduction to the arts. We spend a lot of time doing fun drama games, teamwork exercises and confidence building.

Theatre helps children with confidence and self-esteem in an enjoyable environment, as well as teaching the basics of musical theatre and drama performance. We produce high-quality performances in aid of local, national and international charities.

Each year we present “Sing Out Against Cancer” where performers are involved in community and theatre events, raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Our youngest members meet weekly at The Barn, Heath and Reach. As they get older, they join our Youth Section, many going onto careers in the performing arts.
